Vincent Day
Vincent Day is obsessed with climbing! His entire life and thought process revolves around gastons, side pulls, monos, pockets, locks, jugs, jams and whatever sequence he’s psyched for, whether it be his latest grade 33 project or a sandbagged trad route. Residing in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, where there are always people keen for a climb and where a cafe latte and crimping are correlated, Vince pours his energy into all disciplines from sport routes and boulder problems to multi-pitch trad epics. Recent Adventures: Vincent has been one busy fella on his Spanish sojourn. He has been crushing stalactites, tufas and pockets of the steep Spanish limestone walls. Vince has racked up an impressive list of grade 31 and 32 sport routes, including Doble lluna (8b+/32) which he did second shot. More notable however are his ascents of Pate Negra (8c/33) and Ironman (8c/33). Vince describes Ironman: “45 meters long with the crux in the last 2 meters!!! It was heart breaking!!! I fell there 12 times before breaking through!” Vince has also been pushing his limits on an “awesome blue streak” (-Vince) at Siurana called Estado Critico 8c+-9a/ 34-35! We wish him the best of luck and keep an eye out for more of Vince’s ascents!
